Front Desk Agent

**Experience a MUST, wage will be determined by level of experience of individual**

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provides outstanding services excellence to guests
  • Takes resort reservations in person or by phone in the absence of the Switchboard/Reservations Operator
  • Greets, enters and confirms guests in the system, arranges payment, allocates rooms, etc.
  • Ensures guests' luggage reaches the room or is stored in storage
  • Informs guests about hotel policies and procedures
  • Provides tourist information to guests and provides information on the resort's features and specials
  • Performs cashiering, cashing traveller's cheques and exchanges foreign currency
  • Places guest's valuables in safe when required
  • Coordinates guest's laundry, dry cleaning, shoe shining, room service and promotes other services
  • Ensures e-mail, mail, fax messages reach the quest
  • Prepares guest's bills, explains charges and collects payment
  • Balances daily transactions at the end of every shift
  • Manages other initiatives or duties as required

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or suitable combination of education and experience; hotel or hospitality education preferred
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Computer literacy in MS Office; hotel reservation software and asset
  • MInimum 2 to3 years experience in Front Desk; 4-star experience preferred
  • First Nations Experience an asset
  • Other languages an asset
  • Criminal Record clearance mandatory

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONSIDERATIONS

  • Regular resort/hotel environment, non-traditional work hours
